Brett A. Bauer initially joined the Bank as a Corporate Trainee in 1999 and became a Trust Investment Analyst in 2000. He moved to Tokyo in 2002 to work for Bear Stearns Japan Ltd. until returning to South Bend in 2006, rejoining 1st Source's Funds Management Division as an Investment Analyst. He was promoted in late 2012 to Funds Management Division Head and Chief Investment Officer, and moved into the Chief Financial Officer role in 2021.
He received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. He has volunteered with organizations including Meals-on-Wheels, St. Pius X Catholic Church, the Northwood Hills Homeowners' Association, The Montessori Academy at Edison Lakes, and United Youth Theatre.
