John A. Roush is an independent director of Advanced Energy Industries, serving since 2016, and is a member of the Compensation Committee and the Nominating, Governance & Sustainability Committee. He brings significant senior management experience and leadership in the medical and advanced industrial markets, along with substantial public board experience and experience in private equity.
Mr. Roush currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of directors of Pine Environmental, LLC, a provider of test equipment solutions for the environmental and non-destructive test markets. Prior to joining Pine Environmental in May 2024, he was an Operating Executive Advisor to ACON Investments, LLC, a private equity firm, from January 2018 to May 2024, where he also served on the boards of several portfolio companies.
Mr. Roush previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Chairman of ACON S2 Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company (now ESS Tech, Inc.), from September 2020 to October 2021. He served as Chief Executive Officer and a director of Novanta Inc. (formerly GSI Group Inc.), a global supplier of precision photonic components and subsystems, from December 2010 to September 2016. He joined Novanta after a twelve-year career with PerkinElmer, Inc., where he was a corporate officer and held several leadership positions. Earlier, he held management positions with Outboard Marine Corporation, AlliedSignal, Inc. (now Honeywell International), McKinsey & Company Inc., and General Electric Company.
