Myrtle Potter has served as a member of Guardant Health's Board since October 2021 and serves on the Audit and Compensation Committees.
Ms. Potter most recently served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of the Board of Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. from July 1, 2023 to April 1, 2024. Prior to this, she served as Chief Executive Officer of Sumitovant Biopharma, Inc. from December 2019 to July 2023. From 2018 to 2019 she served as Vant Operating Chair at Roivant Sciences, Ltd., and as Chief Executive Officer of Myrtle Potter & Company, LLC from 2005 to 2018. From 2000 to 2004 she served as Chief Operating Officer at Genentech, Inc., and from 2004 to 2005 as President, Commercial Operations and Executive Vice President of Genentech. Prior to Genentech she held various positions including President, U.S. Cardiovascular/Metabolics at Bristol-Myers Squibb and a vice president at Merck & Co.
Ms. Potter currently serves on the Board of Directors of Opentrons Labworks, Inc. She previously served on the boards of Liberty Mutual Holding Company, Inc. (April 2013 to April 2026), Ginkgo Bioworks Holdings, Inc. (June 2024 to June 2025), Myovant Sciences, Ltd. (September 2018 to March 2023), Urovant Sciences Ltd. (July 2018 to March 2021), Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. (June 2017 to June 2020), Everyday Health, Inc. (September 2010 to December 2016), Immunovant, Inc. (June 2019 to February 2020), Axovant Gene Therapies, Ltd. (September 2018 to February 2020), Arbutus Biopharma, Inc. (October 2018 to February 2020), Insmed Incorporated (December 2014 to November 2018), and Rite Aid Corporation (November 2013 to September 2018). She holds a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Chicago.
