W. Anthony (Tony) Vernon was the first Chief Executive Officer of Kraft Foods Group, Inc. following its 2012 spin-off from Mondelez International, serving as CEO from 2012 to December 2014 (and as a senior advisor to the board until May 2015). He earlier led Kraft Foods North America as President from 2009 to 2012.
Before Kraft he was the healthcare industry partner at private equity firm Ripplewood Holdings LLC (2006-2009), and spent 23 years at Johnson & Johnson (1982-2005), where he managed major consumer brands and served as President of Centocor. He holds a bachelor's degree in history from Lawrence University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
