J. Frederic Kerrest co-founded Okta and has served as a director since 2009. He served as Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer from 2009 to 2023, as Executive Vice Chairperson from 2019 to 2023, and as Vice Chairperson since 2023, providing deep institutional knowledge of the company's culture, customers and technology.
He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Windproof Partners, an enterprise software growth-stage investment and advisory firm founded in May 2025. Earlier in his career he held various sales and business development roles at Salesforce from 2002 to 2007.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University and a Master in Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
