Paul Sagan has served as an independent director of Okta since 2025 and chairs the Compensation and Governance Committee. He has extensive public company board experience, including service as Lead Independent Director of VMware and directorships at Thomson Reuters, Moderna, EMC, Dow Jones and others.
As former CEO of Akamai Technologies, a cloud computing and cybersecurity company, he brings direct operational expertise in domains closely adjacent to Okta's business. As a Catalyst Advisor at General Catalyst, a global venture capital and private equity firm, he maintains a current perspective on technology and innovation trends.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University.
