Thomas M. Gartland has served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Montway Auto Transport, a privately held auto transport company, since 2023, and as the executive chairman of SGL TransGroup, a privately held global freight forwarder, since 2017.
From 2011 to 2014, Mr. Gartland served as president, North America for Avis Budget Group, Inc., a leading global provider of vehicle rental services, and previously was executive vice president, Sales, Marketing and Customer Care there from 2008 to 2011. He was employed by JohnsonDiversey, Inc. from 1994 to 2008 in various high-level capacities, including president of the company's North American region from 2003 to 2008. Prior to that, he served as vice president and director of national accounts at Ecolab, Inc. from 1980 to 1994.
His qualifications to serve on the ABM Board include his extensive experience in senior executive positions at multinational companies in industries similar to ABM's, including experience with respect to sales, operations, financial management, leadership, risk management, and mergers and acquisitions.
