Patricia M. Bedient is the independent, non-executive Board Chair of Alaska Air Group, a position she has held since May 2022, and has served as a director of the company since 2004. She is a certified public accountant whose career spans nearly three decades in public accounting followed by senior financial leadership at one of the world's largest forest products companies.
Ms. Bedient was executive vice president for Weyerhaeuser Company, a publicly traded integrated forest products company, from 2007 until her retirement in July 2016, and served as Weyerhaeuser's chief financial officer from 2007 until February 2016. She joined Weyerhaeuser in 2003 as vice president, strategic planning, and was senior vice president, finance and strategic planning, from 2006 to 2007. Before joining Weyerhaeuser, she spent a 27-year career at Arthur Andersen LLP, where she served as managing partner of the firm's Seattle office and worked as a partner and CPA in its Portland and Boise offices.
A CPA since 1978, Ms. Bedient is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Washington Society of CPAs. She holds a Cyber-Risk Oversight Certificate and an Effective AI Oversight for Directors Certificate from the National Association of Corporate Directors, which named her Public Company Director of the Year in 2025. She currently serves on the boards of Suncor Energy Inc. (where she chairs the audit committee) and Park Hotels & Resorts Inc.
