Total authorized
No fixed dollar amount or share-count authorization. Berkshire's common stock repurchase program permits repurchases of Class A and Class B shares at any time the CEO, after consultation with the Chairman of the Board, believes the repurchase price is below Berkshire's conservatively-determined intrinsic value. The program was amended in 2025 (previously the discretion was vested in Warren Buffett personally). Repurchases may be made in the open market or through privately negotiated transactions.
