Chrysty Esperanza has served as Block's Counsel Lead, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary since February 2023. From September 2024 to March 2025, Ms. Esperanza served as the company's Interim Chief Compliance Officer and BSA/AML Compliance Officer. From December 2021 to February 2023, she served as Block's General Counsel, having previously served as its Assistant Corporate Secretary from June 2021. From October 2013 to December 2021, Ms. Esperanza held various positions within the Counsel team.
Ms. Esperanza currently serves on the board of trustees for the San Francisco Friends School and the board of directors of the San Francisco Public Library.
Ms. Esperanza holds a B.A. in Mass Communication/Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles and a J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly known as the UC Hastings College of Law).
