Thomas M. Botts retired from Royal Dutch Shell on December 31, 2012 as executive vice president, global manufacturing, Shell Downstream Inc., where he was responsible for Shell's global manufacturing business, including all refineries and chemical complexes.

He joined Shell in 1977 as a production engineer and served in a number of corporate and operating roles, including executive vice president for exploration and production (E&P) in Europe - leading Shell's largest E&P unit - from 2003 to 2009. He has been a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Manufacturers, a member of the American Petroleum Institute Downstream Committee, and a member of the council of overseers for the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.

He currently is a member of the board of directors of the University of Wyoming Foundation, Chairman of the Governor's Tier 1 Task Force at the University of Wyoming, and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Mr. Botts received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
