Charles Young has served as a non-executive director of Floor & Decor Holdings, Inc. since 2021. He brings over 25 years of leadership experience in real estate operations, investment management, and strategic growth, including senior roles at Sun Communities, Invitation Homes, and Goldman Sachs.
He is currently Chief Executive Officer and a director of Sun Communities, Inc. (NYSE: SUI), a publicly traded real estate investment trust specializing in manufactured housing and RV communities, a role he assumed in October 2025, where he leads corporate strategy and growth initiatives. Previously he served as President & Chief Operating Officer of Invitation Homes Inc. (NASDAQ: INVH) from 2023 to 2025 and as Chief Operating Officer of Invitation Homes from 2017 to 2023, where he drove the company's expansion. He also held leadership roles at Starwood Waypoint Homes, with deep expertise in mergers and acquisitions, capital structuring, and large-scale property development.
He serves on the board of Sun Communities, Inc. (since October 2025) and on the Stanford University Board of Trustees, and is active in the Stanford Real Estate Council and Stanford Athletics Board. He is a founding member of the LEARN Charter School Network Board. He holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University. He serves on Floor & Decor's Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
