John Murphy assumed the claims president role in December 2021 after nearly seven years as Progressive's customer relationship management president, and is responsible for all aspects of claims strategy and resolution across product lines. He joined Progressive as a claims representative in 1992 and held roles including regional claims manager and national implementation leader; he holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Albany.
