Joe Gebbia has been a Tesla director since 2022 and serves on the Audit Committee. He has valuable experience derived from founding and leading a global public company, along with expertise in design, innovation and brand development.
Mr. Gebbia co-founded Airbnb in 2008 and has served on its board since 2009, and in 2022 launched Samara, which produces factory-made homes. In August 2025 he was named the first U.S. Chief Design Officer, leading the new National Design Studio. He received dual degrees in Graphic Design and Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design.
