William H. Rogers, Jr. is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Truist Financial Corporation and Truist Bank. He has served as CEO since September 2021 and was elected Chairman in March 2022, having previously been President and Chief Operating Officer of Truist from the December 2019 merger of equals until 2021.
Rogers has more than 40 years of banking experience, all within the SunTrust/Truist organization. He served as Chairman of SunTrust Banks, Inc. from 2012 to 2019 and as its Chief Executive Officer from 2011 to 2019 before the SunTrust-BB&T combination that created Truist. He is a former representative on the Federal Advisory Council of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
