Peter A. Shimer serves as a director of Alaska Air Group, where he is a member of the Audit Committee and the Safety Committee. He is the former interim chief executive officer of Deloitte and a longtime senior leader of the firm.
Mr. Shimer served as interim chief executive officer of Deloitte, an accounting firm, in 2022 and 2023. He also served as U.S. chief operating officer, chief financial officer, chair of the Deloitte U.S. operating committee, member and chair of the U.S. executive committee, and Seattle managing partner. In these roles he was responsible for operational performance, evaluating major investments including acquisitions, joint ventures, technology and innovation, and driving strategic choices in cost leadership across the organization.
Mr. Shimer has extensive experience advising C-suite executives, corporate boards and audit committees on complex business matters, including strategy development, acquisitions and divestitures, financial accounting and reporting, governance, risk management and compliance. He currently serves on the boards of Korn Ferry and Synopsys, Inc. He holds a BA from the University of Washington.
