William E. Conway, Jr. is a Co-Founder of Carlyle and serves as Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors. He previously served as the firm's Chief Investment Officer, Co-Chief Executive Officer, and Interim Chief Executive Officer, and before co-founding Carlyle in 1987 he was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of MCI Communications Corporation.

David M. Rubenstein is a Co-Founder of Carlyle and serves as Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors, having previously served as Co-Chief Executive Officer. Prior to co-founding Carlyle in 1987 he practiced law in Washington, D.C. and served as Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy from 1977 to 1981.

Daniel A. D'Aniello is a Co-Founder of Carlyle and Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors, having served on the Board since its inception on July 18, 2011 and as Chairman from 2012 until January 1, 2018. Before co-founding Carlyle in 1987 he was Vice President for Finance and Development at Marriott Corporation and previously a financial officer at PepsiCo and Trans World Airlines.

Harvey M. Schwartz is the Chief Executive Officer of Carlyle and a member of the Board of Directors, serving in both roles since February 15, 2023. He spent more than two decades at Goldman Sachs from 1997 to 2018, where his roles included President and Co-Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Global Co-Head of the Securities Division.

Afsaneh Beschloss is an independent director of Carlyle, joining the Board effective May 1, 2024. She is the founder and CEO of RockCreek, one of the world's largest women-owned investment firms, and previously served as Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer of the World Bank as well as a Managing Director and partner at Carlyle from 2001 to 2003.

Sharda Cherwoo is an independent director of Carlyle and a member of the Audit Committee, effective June 1, 2023. She spent her nearly 40-year career at Ernst & Young, where she focused on private equity and financial services and built a market-leading digital transformation business.

Linda H. Filler is an independent director of Carlyle, appointed to the Board effective April 1, 2022, and is a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. She retired as President of Retail Products, Chief Marketing Officer, and Chief Merchandising Officer at Walgreen Co. in 2017 and previously held Executive Vice President roles at Walmart and Kraft Foods.

Lawton W. Fitt is an independent director of Carlyle, appointed to the Board effective May 2, 2012, and chairs the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. She served as Secretary (CEO) of the Royal Academy of Arts in London from 2002 to 2005 and was previously a partner at Goldman Sachs & Co.

James H. Hance, Jr. is a director of Carlyle and an Operating Executive of the firm, appointed to the Board effective May 2, 2012. He previously served as Vice Chairman of Bank of America from 1993 until his retirement in January 2005.

Mark S. Ordan is the Lead Independent Director of Carlyle's Board, appointed to the Board effective April 1, 2022, and serves on the Compensation and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committees. He is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pediatrix Medical Group and has led numerous public companies during his career.

Derica W. Rice is an independent director of Carlyle, appointed to the Board effective March 8, 2021, and is a member of the Audit and Compensation Committees. He is a former senior executive with deep financial and operating experience across the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.

William J. Shaw is an independent director of Carlyle, appointed to the Board effective May 2, 2012, and chairs the Audit Committee. He is a former Vice Chairman of Marriott International.

Anthony Welters is an independent director of Carlyle, appointed to the Board effective October 27, 2015, and chairs the Compensation Committee while also serving on the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. He is an accomplished business leader and philanthropist with extensive experience in the healthcare sector.

Harvey M. Schwartz has served as Chief Executive Officer of Carlyle since February 15, 2023 and is a member of the Board of Directors. He previously spent more than 20 years at Goldman Sachs, where his roles included President and Co-Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Global Co-Head of the Securities Division.

John C. Redett became a Co-President of Carlyle effective January 1, 2026, leading Global Private Equity and overseeing Corporate Private Equity and Real Assets, and previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Corporate Strategy from October 2023. He joined Carlyle in 2007 as an investor on the Global Financial Services team and has been a key contributor to many of the firm's financial-services investments.

Mark Jenkins became a Co-President of Carlyle effective January 1, 2026, leading the Global Credit and Insurance business, having served as Head of Global Credit since joining Carlyle in 2016. Prior to Carlyle he was a Senior Managing Director at CPPIB, where he founded CPPIB Credit Investments, and earlier spent 11 years at Goldman Sachs.

Jeff Nedelman became a Co-President of Carlyle effective January 1, 2026 and continues to lead the Global Client Business, overseeing the firm's global investor relations and distribution across its business segments. He joined Carlyle in 2023 from Certares and previously spent over 25 years at Goldman Sachs, most recently as Co-Chief Operating Officer of Global Equities.

Justin V. Plouffe became Chief Financial Officer of Carlyle effective January 1, 2026, having previously served as Deputy Chief Investment Officer for Global Credit. He joined Carlyle in 2007 and has also served as President and CEO of the firm's affiliated Business Development Companies and as CEO of Carlyle's SEC-registered broker/dealer affiliate.

Lindsay LoBue has served as Chief Operating Officer of Carlyle since July 1, 2024, after joining the firm in October 2023 and serving as Deputy Chief Operating Officer. She previously spent over 20 years at Goldman Sachs, most recently as an Advisory Director and earlier as a Partner in the Global Markets division.

Kate Heinzelman became General Counsel of Carlyle effective June 29, 2026, overseeing the firm's global legal and compliance organization and reporting to CEO Harvey Schwartz. She previously served as General Counsel of the Central Intelligence Agency from 2022 to 2025 and as Chief Counselor to the U.S. Attorney General, and was a partner at Sidley Austin LLP.
