Dr. Andrea J. Goldsmith has been a Crown Castle director since 2018 and serves on the Compensation and Human Capital Committee. She is an accomplished wireless-communications engineer and inventor who holds 38 patents and has authored or co-authored four books on wireless communications.

She is President of Stony Brook University and previously served as Dean of Engineering and Applied Science and the Arthur LeGrand Doty Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Princeton University, after holding endowed professorships at Stanford University. She co-founded Plume WiFi (formerly Accelera) and Quantenna Communications, serving as Chief Technology Officer of each.

Dr. Goldsmith holds B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and was a member of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) from 2021 to 2025.
