Anthony J. Melone has served as a Crown Castle director since 2015. He chairs the Audit Committee and serves on the Fiber Review and Nominating & Governance Committees, and previously served as the company's Interim President and CEO from January to April 2024 and as a Special Advisor through May 2024.
He spent more than 35 years in telecommunications, including as EVP and Chief Technology Officer of Verizon Communications, where he oversaw the wireless network's transition from 3G to 4G and the launch of the nation's first wireless broadband wide-area network. He earlier held a variety of positions with Verizon Wireless, including SVP and CTO.
He holds a B.S. from Villanova University and an M.S.E. from the University of Pennsylvania.
