Erin L. McSweeney is an independent director of Flex, where she chairs the Compensation and People Committee and serves on the Nominating, Governance and Public Responsibility Committee. Since March 2022 she has served as Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer of UnitedHealth Group Incorporated, responsible for developing and implementing the company's enterprise people and culture strategy.
She previously served as Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff for the CEO of UnitedHealth Group (February 2021 to February 2022) and as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of Optum, Inc., the group's global health services platform (January 2017 to February 2021). Earlier she spent 11 years at EMC (now Dell EMC) in roles including Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (2015 to 2016); Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Products and Marketing (2013 to 2015); and Chief Human Resources Officer and Vice President, Virtual Computing Environment (2009 to 2012), and has held several other CHRO roles across various industries.
She has served more than 30 years as a human capital management professional, with expertise spanning organizational design, talent acquisition and management, total rewards, employee development, performance management, and succession planning.
