Jon Vander Ark is President and Chief Executive Officer of Republic Services, Inc. and a director since July 2021. He became Chief Executive Officer on June 25, 2021, succeeding Donald W. Slager, and is responsible for driving the Company's values-based culture and leading its strategy. He was instrumental in developing Republic's strategy to partner with customers to create a more sustainable world.
He joined Republic in January 2013 as Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, then held a series of operating roles including Executive Vice President, Operations (March 2016-January 2018), Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer (January 2018-May 2019), and President (from May 1, 2019). Prior to Republic he was a partner at McKinsey & Company's Detroit office. He signs the 10-K as Principal Executive Officer.
