Michael Larson has been a director of Republic Services since October 2009, chairs the Nominating & Corporate Governance Committee and serves on the Finance and Talent & Compensation Committees. He is the Chief Investment Officer of both Cascade Asset Management Company, the investment office for William H. Gates III, and the Gates Foundation Trust.
Over the course of his 40-year career as an investor he has developed a deep understanding of global capital markets, business cycles and capital allocation, and brings the perspective of Republic's largest shareholder, Cascade Investment, L.L.C. Prior to 1994 he worked at Harris Investment Management, Putnam Management Company and ARCO.
