Tana L. Utley is a retired Vice President for Caterpillar Inc., a manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, engines, turbines, and locomotives. She was an officer for the company for over 13 years of her 36 year tenure. She was appointed an officer and as Chief Technology Officer of Caterpillar in 2007, having joined that company in 1986. Previously, she held a number of roles with Caterpillar, including a variety of engineering and general management positions, including in Caterpillar's components and engines businesses.

She brings a wealth of knowledge in engineering, operations, continuous improvement, and implementation of new programs, along with a depth of understanding of technology and cybersecurity, multi-industrial manufacturing, and minimizing the environmental impact of manufacturing companies. She earned her bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bradley University and her M.S. in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
