Norman Schwartz is Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. He has served as the Company's Chief Executive Officer since 2003 and as Chairman of the Board since 2012, and he was the Company's President from 2003 to 2024. Earlier in his Bio-Rad career he served as Vice President from 1989 to 2002, Group Manager, Life Science from 1997 to 2002, and Group Manager, Clinical Diagnostics from 1993 to 1997.
Mr. Schwartz has more than 50 years of service with Bio-Rad and has been a director since 1995. In February 2024, following the resignation of Ilan Daskal, the Board appointed Mr. Schwartz as the Company's principal financial officer on an interim basis until a permanent Chief Financial Officer was appointed; Roop K. Lakkaraju assumed the CFO role in April 2024. The Company believes Mr. Schwartz's financial and business expertise, gained through over 50 years with Bio-Rad including more than 23 years as Chief Executive Officer, give him the qualifications and skills to serve as a director.
