John G. Russell is the retired President and Chief Executive Officer of CMS Energy and Consumers Energy, a position he held from 2010 to 2016. He has served as a director since 2010 and as Chairman of the Board since 2016.
Russell is qualified to serve on the Board based on the knowledge and experience acquired throughout his more than 30 years with Consumers, where he previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer and as Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer - Electric. He has in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the utility, and his hands-on experience and the leadership positions he has held provide the Board with a valuable perspective.
